Frequently Asked Questions

An individual who lives, works, attends school, or owns property in Woodward County may apply for a library card at no charge. You must provide a picture ID and 1 form of identification verifying your current physical address. Children (18 and under) must be accompanied by a parent, a guardian, or legal caregiver.

You may have a total of 8 items checked out on your card. This total may include a maximum of 3 DVDs.

The majority of library items are checked out for a period of 14 days. DVDs have a check out period of 7 days.

Fines are $0.10 per item, per day for most items. Audio books, DVDs, and children's kits are $1 per day, per item. Fines for items borrowed from another library are $0.25 per day, per item. Late charges begin at the time the library closes, on the due date, until the item is returned. Fines do not accumulate when the library is closed.

Materials can be renewed in person, by phone, or through the online catalog. Items may be renewed twice if there are no outstanding requests. Inter library loan material may be renewed only once for a period of 7 days.

For items that are currently available in the library, please call 580-254-8544. The item will be held for you at the front desk. For items that are currently checked out, you can reserve them at the front desk in person or by phone, or you can place a hold online through the library catalog. There is a limit of 2 reserves per person. Once contacted, reserve item will be held for 3 days at the front desk.

Items the library does not own can often be borrowed from another library through our inter library loan service. There is a limit of no more than 5 requests at one time. The library does charge a return postage fee. If the item is not picked up within 10 days of notification, you will be charged a $5 fee.
