To Our Valued Residents,
We want to inform you of an important update regarding our waste collection services.
In accordance with the established municipal code, all garbage cans used for curbside pickup must meet the following criteria:
GARBAGE CAN: container with a securely fitting cover and convenient handle or handles for carrying. The can shall not exceed thirty-five (35) gallons in capacity.
While we have previously made efforts to accommodate larger containers, due to a significant increase in work-related injuries and workers’ compensation claims, we must now fully enforce this requirement. This change is necessary to ensure the health and safety of our sanitation personnel and to maintain the reliability of our services.
Effective immediately, garbage containers exceeding 35 gallons will no longer be serviced.
We understand this may come as a surprise to some residents, and we truly regret any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement this important safety measure.
If you have any questions or need assistance determining if your current garbage can is compliant, please contact Joe Chance 580-254-8550, and we’ll be happy to assist.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our community clean and safe.
Sincerely,
Solid Waste Department
City of Woodward
